Gregg Pendant Light

Designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba's vision of interpreting nature, and to a certain extent incorporating it into an industrial product influenced the Foscarini Gregg Suspension Light. This pendant is made from satinized glass to enhance its space and is completely symmetrical from all sides, as the designers intended. Despite its symmetry, this orb-shaped fixture is unmistakably organic in appearance. Its rounded form produces a series of unexpected visions depending on what angle this lamp is being viewed from. Ludovica and Roberto had a desire to control this glass in space, but nothing in nature can truly be one hundred percent manipulated. As one moves around this object, it continually changes shape and appearance, leaving it completely up to interpretation in the eyes of the beholder. The Foscarini Gregg Suspension creates a harmonizing juxtaposition, impressing the idea of an object that is completely organic and free, yet entirely designed and controlled.
